REALTOR® Rep. Sam Yingling

If you live in the 62nd District for the Illinois House of Representatives, northwest of Chicago in Lake County, REALTOR® Rep. Sam Yingling (D) of Grayslake is running for re-election.  The Illinois REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) – with input from the local Association – has identified Yingling as a pro-business, pro-private property rights, low tax and pro-growth candidate, and encourages IAR members to vote for him in the Nov. 4 General Election.

His re-election bid is termed an “Opportunity Race ” by RPAC which means that this REALTOR champion receives grassroots support in addition to the direct contribution made on behalf of his campaign.  Yingling is part of his family-owned business (New Century Real Estate in Round Lake) and has been the state representative since January 2013.

Rep. Sam Yingling was the chief House sponsor of SB 2664, a key IAR initiative in the 2014 spring session of the General Assembly.  This legislation sought to limit the excessive fees that buyers of foreclosed condominiums are charged by condominium associations.  His keen insight was invaluable as this bill was debated both in the House Judiciary Committee and on the House floor.  Rep. Yingling fielded tough questions and arguments with ease because he truly understands that a strong market for condominiums contributes to a healthy real estate market.

Yingling serves on several committees as the current representative: Appropriations-General Service, Economic Development, State Government Administration and Transportation, Regulation, Roads/Tollway Oversight. He sponsored legislation that prohibits local governments from raising property taxes when property values go down and has supported initiatives to make local governments more efficient to reduce the heavy property tax burden on his constituents.

Prior to serving as a state representative, Yingling served as the Avon Township Supervisor.

Yingling has been an IAR member since September of 2002.

Batinick candidate for 97th District

REALTOR® Mark Batinick

If you live in the 97th District, southwest of Chicago, around the growing communities of Oswego, Minooka and Shorewood, REALTOR® Mark Batinick is the RPAC choice to replace current Rep. Tom Cross of Lockport who is the Republican candidate for State Treasurer in 2014.

In this “Open Seat” race (no incumbent running) the commercial real estate broker for RE/MAX Professional Select of Naperville comes fresh off a Republican primary victory with almost 49 percent of the vote. Batinick, a married father of five who lives in Plainfield, started his political career by working with a group of like-minded residents to stop plans to erect a new Wheatland Township building. He also helped local members of the group run for township offices, with goals to consolidate services and reduce the local tax levy.

Batinick believes that we must address our high property tax rates and strongly supports consolidation of local government services.  He also knows that housing affordability is key to our economic growth.  Batinick is ready to tackle the tough issues in Springfield and will serve his constituents with integrity.

Batinick has been an IAR member since September 2001.

Make sure you register to vote by Oct. 7 and vote on Nov. 4.
