Illinois REALTORS® held three Let’s Talk Real Estate events during the past week to encourage dialogue between more than 100 REALTORS® and their U.S. representatives.

On Wednesday, Federal Political Coordinator Jeff Gregory facilitated discussion between 11th Congressional District REALTORS® and U.S. Rep. Bill Foster of Naperville. Thursday, FPC Pat McCarthy helped 18th Congressional District REALTORS® exchange information with U.S. Rep. Darin LaHood of Peoria, while today First District REALTORS® met with FPC Nykea Pippion McGriff and U.S. Rep. Bobby Rush of Chicago.

Neil Malone, Illinois REALTORS® director of grassroots and political programs, also helped encourage an exchange of ideas at the events. Conversations included the future of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the powers of the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), tax reform, National Flood Insurance Program reforms, proposals for national health insurance and transportation.

The events allow Illinois REALTORS® to share the latest market data with their elected representatives and learn how lawmakers view issues affecting the industry.
