REALTORS® interested in learning about local conservation land trusts in Illinois can now read the Prairie State Conservation Coalition’s 2018 Annual Report.

This year’s report highlights land acquisitions made by private and public land conservation trusts, including a 2,637-acre property by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and 12 purchases of property by the Forest Preserve District of Kane County totaling 800 acres.

Author David Holman also chooses his three “most awesome projects,” of 2018, cites leadership changes at three organizations and provides a list of the guiding principles that govern members of the Prairie State Conservation Coalition. The report also provides links to valuable resources, such as the Hike App and the I-View Protected Lands Database.

Holman is an independent conservation professional who works closely with the coalition, its individual land trust members, and federal, state and local conservation agencies.

Illinois REALTORS® recently entered into a partnership with the Prairie State Conservation Coalition to educate Illinois residents about the advantages of preserving and enhancing natural spaces. See the Conservation section of the REALTORS® website.
