The late David Perkins, Christine Schweickert and Catherine Simon-Vobornik will be among local Illinois association REALTORS® of the Year (ROTY) honored March 28 at the 2022 REALTOR® of the Year Banquet in Springfield.

The ROTY award recognizes members who have done exceptional work to advance their association and the real estate industry.

Perkins is the ROTY for the Central Illinois Board of REALTORS® and is a former broker for All American Realty in Mattoon. He considered it his ministry to help people find the house that God had for them. Some knew he was a pastor, but many just knew he loved Jesus. Since his passing, a number of former clients have expressed gratitude and shared positive experiences they had with him.

Schweickert is the ROTY for the Illini Valley Association of REALTORS® and a broker for Janko Realty & Development in Peru. Following 25 years of service for a branch of the Arthritis Foundation, she followed in her mother’s footsteps and became a REALTOR® in her hometown. Schweickert is the Illini Valley immediate past president and a current member of the Illinois REALTORS® Professional Standards Committee.

Simon-Vobornik is the ROTY for the Oak Park Area Association of REALTORS® and is a broker for Baird & Warner in Oak Park. She is the 2022 Oak Park Area president, having served the association in many capacities since becoming a REALTOR® in 2003. In 2015, she received her first Oak Park ROTY award. For Baird & Warner, she’s been a top producer and has been a member of the President’s Club, the Chairman’s Club and the Founder’s Club.

Simon-Vobornik and Schweickert will join Illinois REALTOR® of the Year Ed Neaves, managing broker of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Central Illinois REALTORS® in Bloomington, at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum for this special event. A reception begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner and program at 7:15 p.m.

The ROTY Banquet is sponsored by the Illinois REALTORS® to support the Illinois Real Estate Educational Foundation (REEF).
