Congratulations to Pat McCarthy, a broker associate with RE/MAX Traders Unlimited in Peoria, who was named the recipient of the 2018 Political Involvement Award today during the Illinois REALTORS® Capitol Conference in Springfield.

Illinois REALTOR® Pat McCarthy received the Political Involvement Award from President-Elect Ed Neaves.

McCarthy, CRS, GRI, has been committed to promoting the power of REALTOR® political advocacy.

“Thank you everyone, this was a little unexpected,” he said after the surprise announcement was made at the Capitol Conference legislative briefing.

“I’m proud to say I’m a REALTOR®,” McCarthy said. “It’s a wonderful way to make a living and protect your business as well as you can by being a part of (events) like this.”

He has served on all of the Illinois REALTORS®’ political fundraising committees and has chaired the Federal Political Coordinators Working Group. He is a Federal Political Coordinator (FPC) for U.S. Rep. Darin LaHood and a State Legislative Coordinator for state Rep. Mike Unes.

At the national level, McCarthy has served multiple terms on the National Association of REALTORS® Political Involvement Committee.

McCarthy is a Sterling “R” Major Investor in the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) and is a 2018 RPAC Pacesetter.

His dedication to the industry can also be seen with his ongoing involvement at the local level. A member of the Peoria Area Association of REALTORS®, he has served on numerous committees and led the association as its president in 2008-2009.

In his local community, McCarthy has served as president of the Bradley University Braves Club and has been on the board of the Boys and Girls Club and the Prairie Air Show.
