NAR warns of email scam

The National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) is telling members to delete a suspicious email sent today for the purposes of funding medical expenses for a young girl. The email is either addressed from the REALTOR® Party or the NAR.

“NAR never solicits donations for personal or individual charities,” said NAR CEO Bob Goldberg. “If you received this ‘Help Support Diana Recovery’ solicitation, please delete the email without clicking on any links. If you sent money to the link in the email, we recommend that you file a complaint with the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center at www.ic3.gov.

The NAR is working to identify and report the sender, writes Goldberg. The NAR offers additional information on cyberfraud and cybersecurity best practices.
