Midwest Real Estate Data (MRED) will not be making any changes to its listing syndication policy that leaves the decision of where a brokerage’s listings are distributed up to the real estate companies and not the multiple listing service (MLS). This week’s announcement by MRED, which serves the Chicagoland area, comes as some multiple listing services have moved to make those decisions. Read a news release from MRED.

“MRED’s policy has always been and continues to be that the brokerage controls where their listings are sent to. Why would an MLS or real estate association tell brokers how to run their businesses? MRED does it the way we think everyone should be doing it. Our job is to facilitate the buying and selling of real estate. If we can assist brokers in their marketing efforts we are happy to do so, but only at their request,” said MRED President and CEO Russ Bergeron in the release.
