There’s a geographic shift afoot. For the first time in 100 years, many U.S. cities grew faster than their suburban counterparts, due in part to more young adults choosing to live in more urban areas, according to census figures, MSNBC reports (via AP).

The trend holds true for Chicago, which grew 0.3 percent between July 2010 and July 2011, reversing a decade of declines, Crain’s reports.
