The Rockford area housing market is heating up with the Rockford Area REALTORS® Association reporting that sales activity in May marked the third straight month that home sales were higher than a year ago, according to the Rockford Register Star article, “Home sales strong in May, prices starting to rise across Rockford River Valley.”

And home prices, while lower annually, have been steadily rising when comparing month to month and the market is seeing an improvement in available inventory levels.

“Buyers are facing a tighter housing inventory than usual, but mortgage rates are staying low and inventory levels are beginning to move slightly higher each month,” said Rockford Area REALTORS® CEO Steve Bois. Find more coverage of the Rockford housing market.
