The summer housing market is off to a strong start with Springfield and Rockford reporting an uptick in their local markets.

The Capital Area Association of REALTORS® President Steve Myers told the State Journal-Register that the market is improving after winter weather caused a slower start to the year. “We caught up with everybody that was on the sidelines earlier in the year,” he said.

And Rockford Area REALTORS® CEO Steve Bois told the Rockford Register-Star that June home prices were strong and the fundamentals of the housing market are sound with more households forming, improved job growth and more financially sound consumers.
