A proposed rule from the Federal Aviation Administration that could allow for unmanned aircraft systems, or drones, to be used to market commercial real estate properties is getting support from REALTORS®. In a statement, National Association of REALTORS® President Chris Polychron applauded the proposed rule as good news for real estate practitioners.

But he also cautioned REALTORS® to wait for a final ruling:

“NAR plans to submit comments to the agency and will continue to work with our members to educate them about the future safe, responsible and legal uses of UAVs; however, until the final rule is published, NAR discourages Realtors® from using UAV photography or video for commercial purposes without an FAA exemption.”
