Morning Minute: Illinois farmland values grew 16.4 percent in 2013

The upward trend in Illinois farmland prices continued this year with land averaging $7,800 an acre, a record high and a 16.4 percent jump over 2012.

It is the third year in a row that farmland values have risen at least 16 percent over the year before, according to data from the University of Illinois.
