More first-time buyers are turning to their parents and families for help pulling together a down payment to buy a home. Data from the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) found that 27 percent of first-time buyers last year received a cash gift for a down payment from relatives, up from 24 percent in 2012, Bloomberg reports.
