Morning Minute: Extension of Mortgage Debt Forgiveness Act passes House, now heads to Senate

The Chicago Tribune reports today that the U.S. House voted Wednesday to extend the Mortgage Debt Forgiveness Act for one year. Now the measure, which is strongly supported by REALTORS® and provides an income tax break to homeowners for mortgage debt forgiven in a short sale, heads to the U.S. Senate for consideration.
