Landlords have until end of day today, Monday, June 7, to submit applications for emergency rental payment assistance through the 2021 Illinois Rental Payment Program. Tenants have until end of day June 13 to complete their portion of landlord-initiated applications.
Through this program, money may be given directly to landlords to cover missed rent payments between June 2020 through August 2021. Specific details on the program can be found on IHDA’s website. Applicants are eligible for a grant of up to $25,000 in one-time grants to help cover past due rent payments resulting from the COVID pandemic. Find ILRPP income limits here.
Tenants may also initiate their own applications starting Monday, June 28 through Sunday, July 18.
