Illinois REALTORS® has announced that Kristen Butcher will become executive vice president of the real estate trade association effective Jan. 1, 2019.

Butcher, who joined Illinois REALTORS® in 2013, will become the number two executive at the trade association. She had been vice president of professional development, a role which placed her in charge of the association’s education programs and events.

“Kristen has shown a clear understanding of the complex nature of our business, and has consistently delivered high-quality programs to our members,” said Illinois REALTORS® President-elect Ed Neaves. “Her abilities make her a perfect fit for this role, and we are thrilled to have her assistance in steering the association in the future.”

Butcher, of Springfield, has worked in both the association and hospitality fields prior to joining Illinois REALTORS®.

She previously worked as director of sales and catering for the Hilton Springfield, and also served as educational services director for the Illinois Association of Park Districts.

Butcher is a graduate of Western Illinois University where she earned a bachelor’s of science degree in Recreation, Park and Tourism Administration in 1993. She holds the Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) designation.

Butcher is currently secretary/treasurer for the Illinois Society of Association Executives, a role which places her in line to be president of the organization in 2020.

Illinois REALTORS® is a statewide trade association representing more than 50,000 real estate professionals engaged in all aspects of the real estate business.
