Registered voters in the 109th District for the Illinois House of Representatives will receive mailers and see social media advertising asking them to vote for Rep. David Reis in the March 20 general primary.

The mailers and electronic advertising come from Illinois REALTORS® as part of an independent expenditure campaign. Independent expenditure activities take place in support of a candidate for public office without any coordination with the candidate or the candidate’s campaign.

Reiss is facing Darren Bailey in the Republican primary. Cynthia Given is unopposed in the Democratic primary. The primary winners will face off in the Nov. 6 general election.

Reis has served voters in his district since 2004. He’s been re-elected in 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2016. The 109th District includes more than 108,000 people and the communities of Albion, Bridgeport, Carmi, Effingham, Fairfield, Flora, Grayville, Mount Carmel, Newton, Olney, St. Francisville and Sumner.
