Governor JB Pritzker has extended the state’s eviction moratorium through July 24 with the state allowing more evictions to move forward. Illinois REALTORS® was pleased with the positive momentum and launched a one-stop resource webpage for REALTORS® and landlords.

Local, state and federal rental regulations and laws are constantly changing, placing extreme pressure on smaller, “mom and pop” landlords who account for a majority of affordable rental units. The new resource page will serve as a central destination for housing providers to learn about proposed, new and existing laws that impact their properties and tenants. The webpage, www.IllinoisRealtors.org/landlord is like a reference library for housing providers and includes links to guides, sample documents, videos and FAQs organized by topic.

The news and video sections will be updated regularly with breaking news and timely content. As laws or regulations change, the resources will be updated to reflect the most current versions. Visitors can also learn how to make their voice heard on pending issues by using REALTOR® advocacy tools to engage elected officials. Some of the guides on the webpage are only accessible to REALTOR® members, but the page includes a “How to Become a REALTOR®” section to help non-REALTORS® get licensed.

REALTORS® opt into a higher degree of professionalism and accountability which gains them access to all the resources on the webpage. The page will help all housing providers, but also encourages them to work with or become a REALTOR®.
