This year’s Illinois Housing Leaders Conference, “Helping Boomerang Buyers Get Back in the Market,” includes keynote speaker Shari Olefson, the director of the Carnegie Group and the author of “Financial Fresh Start.”
The one-day conference being held on March 31, in Springfield is the kickoff to the Illinois Association of REALTORS® Capitol Conference and Lobby Day on April 1. This year’s housing conference will focus on the hot topic of helping emerging Boomerang Buyers, homeowners who lost their homes and possibly good credit standing during the recession, but are now ready to buy a home again. There will be a panel discussion on the challenges facing boomerang buyers as well as an opportunity for Illinois REALTORS® to earn up to three hours CE with the course, “FINANCING: Unconventional is Becoming Conventional.”
Olefson, a lawyer and mediator, also is an author who has written about foreclosure in the book, “Foreclosure Nation: Mortgaging the American Dream, Structuring Commercial Real Estate Transactions, Foreclosures Defense Strategies and Foreclosures: What Lawyers Need to Know Now.” She has appeared as an analyst on CNN, CNBC, FOX, PBS, MSNBC, and CBS.
