Among the 23 local association REALTORS® of the Year who will be honored April 9 at the 37th Annual REALTOR® of the Year Banquet in Springfield are Jana Heffron, Andy Velkme and Carrie Healy.

Heffron, a broker for Keller Williams Premier Realty in Peoria, is the REALTOR® of the Year for the Peoria Area Association of REALTORS® (PAAR). A former PAAR president, Heffron has served on numerous local committees, including MLS, RPAC, Governmental Affairs and Young Professionals Network. She’s known for encouraging forward thinking, including the implementation of new services and strategic vision. She’s served Illinois REALTORS® on several committees, including the Technology Working Group, Young Professionals Network, Business Issues/License Law and Public Policy/Governmental Affairs.
Velkme, a broker with Caton Commercial Real Estate Group in Naperville, is the REALTOR® of the Year for the Northern Illinois Commercial Association of REALTORS® (NICAR). He is the NICAR secretary and chair of the association’s Commercial Global Business Network Committee. On the state level, he joined the Consulate General Liaison Program in 2016 as liaison to Latvia. In 2017, he was a member of the Illinois REALTORS® Leadership Development Class. This year, he’s a member of the Global Business Council and the Nominating Committee.
Healey, a broker with the Hudson Company in Winnetka, is the REALTOR® of the Year for the North Shore-Barrington Association of REALTORS® (NSBAR). A former NSBAR president, she has served on many local, state and national association committees. For Illinois REALTORS®, she’ll serve on the Global Business Council, RPAC Fundraising Working Group and Nominating Committee this year. She was a Sterling R contributor for RPAC in 2017, and she is an RPAC Major Investor. She is the State Legislative Contact for Rep. Robyn Gabel, 18th District.
All three will join Illinois REALTOR® of the Year Michael D. Oldenettel of RE/MAX Professionals, Springfield, at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum in Springfield for this special event. A reception begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:15 p.m. The deadline for ordering tickets is March 19. Tickets are $75 each.
