Fewer homeowners behind on mortgages
While U.S. foreclosures remain high, the Mortgage Bankers Association reported this week that mortgage delinquencies fell in the fourth quarter of 2011 to the lowest levels in three years, the Wall Street Journal reported.

HUD official calls on Fannie, Freddie to reduce troubled loan balances
In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Shaun Donovan, secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, said the Obama administration would like to see Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac reduce loan balances for some troubled homeowners.
