Illinois REALTORS® Relief Foundation and a charity operated by the National Association of REALTORS® are accepting applications from those who sustained property damage in the recent flooding that struck Iroquois, Kankakee and Vermilion counties.

Heavy rain inundated waterways in the three counties in late February, causing property damage to more than 120 homes. Gov. Bruce Rauner declared the counties as disaster areas.

Those seeking aid can apply to the two foundations. They are:

Illinois REALTORS® Relief Foundation (Application) provides up to $500 for qualified applicants for one of these options:

  • Monthly mortgage expense for primary residence damaged by the February flooding.
  • Rental cost for temporary shelter due to displacement from the primary residence because of the flooding; or
  • Unreimbursed losses directly related to the disaster such as an insurance deductible.

The REALTORS® Relief Foundation (Application), administered by the National Association of REALTORS® can provide up $1,000 for qualified applicants for either:

  • The monthly mortgage expense for a primary residence damaged by the February 2018 flooding, or
  • The rental cost for temporary shelter due to displacement from the primary residence because of the flooding.

Illinois REALTORS® has provided nearly $1 million in the past two decades for disaster recovery. It provided more than $100,000 in 2017 to victims of hurricanes living in Texas, Florida and Caribbean islands.

Applications for the Illinois REALTORS® Relief Foundation will be accepted through June 1, 2018. Applications for the REALTORS® Relief Foundation will be accepted through June 15, 2018.
