High school seniors interested in pursuing careers in a trade, craft or as a technician have less than two weeks to submit an application for the Parker R. Oldenettel Scholarship for the 2021-22 school year.

The deadline is April 1 for the scholarship underwritten by the Illinois Real Estate Educational Foundation (REEF). Get your application now.

A scholarship fund was created in memory of Parker R. Oldenettel, the son of Illinois REALTORS® Past President Michael D. Oldenettel and his wife, Lori. Parker was a 2018 graduate of the University of Northwestern Ohio in Lima, making the Dean’s List with a degree in Agriculture and Diesel Technologies.

The scholarship can be used to cover tuition, room, board and materials at U.S. trade schools, technical schools, community colleges, universities, colleges of further education, institutes of technology and polytechnic institutes. The number of scholarships and the amount of each scholarship (up to $1,000) will be determined by the foundation.

Applicants must be Illinois residents who are children or grandchildren of:

  • REALTORS®,
  • REALTOR® associates in good standing or
  • Employees of a local Illinois REALTOR® association, the Illinois REALTORS® or the National Association of REALTORS®.

REEF is a not-for-profit organization established to aid and promote the work of real estate education throughout Illinois. The foundation is supported by voluntary contributions from organizations and individuals who recognize the importance of furthering academic experience and training in the real estate industry in Illinois.
