Catherine LaBelle 09As a former marathon runner and active half-marathon runner, the spring marks the beginning of a new outdoor running season for me. I began mine last Saturday with a crisp four-miler with my girlfriend. The next day, feeling slightly stiff and a bit sore, I was reminded that I haven’t been doing any prep work or conditioning during the long winter months and there was going to be a price to pay to get back to my peak.

As a REALTOR® in Illinois, you have incredible tools at your feet in order to reach your peak performance quickly and reap real success in this spring market. So here are some ideas to help you “Get Busy, Get Active in the Spring Market.”

If you haven’t visited www.REALTOR.org this is a great place to start with Right Tools, Right Now. The new Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers is available to download and will help you structure your spring marketing. You pay for this information, why not utilize it. Another wonderful resource that NAR has developed for you and your clients is the Web site HouseLogic. Go to http://houselogic.com/members to sign up for useful articles and trends and send your clients to www.HouseLogic.com.

The Illinois Association of REALTORS® is your next important area for conditioning. Visit www.YourIllinoisHome.com or www.Illinoisrealtor.org to get started. It has important links, podcasts, forms, information on the new License Law as well as financial information for your clients like the Partnership for HomeOwnership.

The final and most accessible area for conditioning is through your local Association. Think of your local association as your clients should think of you, a trusted advisor. Find everything from market statistics, online classes and even where to go for the new short sale designation (SFR) along with other valuable designations and certification both national and local for today buyers and sellers like negotiations, foreclosure, pricing and yes, even staging.

Now that you know where to start your conditioning, it’s time to “Get Busy, Get Active” and reach for peak performance for success in this spring market.
